About

Independent practice for UK train driver and rail signaller selection. Built so the formats are not a surprise on the day.

Why we built it

Most people do not get a proper look at these tasks until they sit them. A briefing email will not tell you what a long vigilance block feels like, or how easy it is to click the wrong thing when you are tired. People freeze on instruction screens. That gap is why RailFocus exists.

Shaped by the people using it

Candidates tell us what felt unclear, what dragged, and what still caught them out. We use that to refine the modules, the timings, and how scores are explained. RailFocus is better because people preparing for the real day keep telling us the truth.

That is how it became the platform people choose first when they get ready for the train driver tests.

Rehearsal, not a replica

We model common UK selection formats: vigilance, search, reaction, memory, rules, and judgement. We are not an operator, and this is not an official paper. Providers use their own batteries, timings, and scoring. A high score here does not mean you will pass on the day.

What practice can do is make the type of task familiar, build stamina, and show you which skills still wobble so you can work on them before it counts.

Honest scores

Every finished run stores a practice score out of 100 and the metrics behind it: hits, misses, false alarms, time. That is a training signal. It is not a pass mark, not a prediction, and not something to put on an application. Use the trend: fewer misses, fewer false clicks, less of a drop in the last quarter of a long test.

Web and phone

The website is the full catalog, with an account and saved scores. The iOS and Android apps are a separate practice set. They run entirely offline, with no login. The real assessment is almost always a desktop with a mouse. If you only ever practise on a phone, do a few desk runs before the day.

Made in the UK

RailFocus is built in the United Kingdom, for this country's selection. Both tracks have four free modules. Plus is prepaid on the website, 3 or 6 months, and it does not renew. See pricing for the current amounts.
